and anomalous physics weapons. Interaction: Hyper realistic VR object and environment interaction. Story: Play through the game’s mysterious narrative and explore the deep inner workings of the Monogon Industries’ artificial intelligence operating system; Myth OS. Character Bodies: Accurate full IK body systems built from the ground up provide a realistic looking body presence and allow for a maximum level of immersion with physical interaction in the game space. The game takes place in MythOS, a virtual operating system developed by Monogon’s artificial intelligence, the Voidmind AI. The player takes control of Arthur Ford, the security director for Monogon, and is sent into MythOS to find out why the system clock has stopped. Hayes tips off Ford to Void leaks and a bug that could expose The Voidway.

BONEWORKS Gameplay

Boneworks revolves around having realistic guns and a complicated physics system. In the game, the player must escape and battle their way out of a virtual city, revolving around realistic physics interactions. All objects in the world can be manipulated by the player according to the object’s real-life size and weight. Small objects like cups or hammers can be easily picked up one-handed while larger objects like crates or axes take more effort to be picked up. Weapons in Boneworks require physical movement, with manual weapon reloading and hefty melee action to replicate how much effort the action would take in real life. Players can also pick up small enemies and throw them or bash them into a wall; enemies can be simultaneously grabbed and shot. STRIDE

Levels in the game have many ways of accomplishing them, such as stacking boxes together or climbing a ledge. The game encourages all ways of completing puzzles, even if it means cheating or solving them in an unintended way. There are multiple game modes and maps, including arena modes and sandbox modes. Different maps can be unlocked by finding “modules” to plug into the main menu. Other items can be unlocked by finding “bone boxes” that have unlockables in them, and putting them inside a reclamation area near the end of a level. You can also put guns and melee weapons in the area to use them in arena or sandbox. Multiple variants of guns can be found, including attachments such as sights, grips, and laser attachments.

Game Storyline

Boneworks starts in an introductory tour designed as a history of VR interaction. The player plays as Arthur Ford, a security director for a fictional company named Monogon. The story mode of the game has the player traversing a digital city developed by Monogon, called MythOS City. MythOS City is built upon the advanced framework engine Boneworks and is sustained by the artificial intelligence operating system, MythOS. The virtual world is built upon “void energy”, an unstable, yet very useful energy, recently discovered by the same company. The game begins with Ford barricading himself in a room, then putting on a VR headset to enter MythOS. It is implied that the lockdown was caused by Ford in the opening cutscene by using a virus hard drive from a rival company called Gammon. Zombieland VR Headshot Fever

Ford then is tasked to reset the system clock to end the lockdown caused by a void breach. Along the way, he fights rogue AI enemies and holographic soldiers. Throughout the game he is contacted by his coworkers through monitors in MythOS, who warn him that Monogon security is trying to enter the room in real life. Ford eventually makes his way to the Clock Tower where he repairs the Gravity Core, which destroys the tower and opens a path to the Voidway. Once inside, Ford wakes up in front of a castle, which is part of a game called Fantasy Land. He finds a king clone of himself ruling over other clones. Ford goes through various trials in the game, until he climbs the castle and fights the king in combat. Ford kills the king and goes under the castle, where he enters the Void.

Physics in this Game

The physics in this game feel spectacular, even if you don’t have any actual haptic feedback, you still “feel” the weight of objects. They’ve had a good balance of where you hands ARE and where your hands WOULD be if you actually felt the weight, and it tricks your brain in all the best ways. They’ve taken the time to fine-tune the strength of your character, the strength of materials and objects, and the strength of enemies into account, and it all feels real. I think the best example of this is I didn’t even notice how good they were, because it all felt so intuitive initially. The level designs are intricately detailed, full of secrets, and well paced. Each level is unique and interesting to go through, and the amount of replayability is really nice (especially in later Story levels. Car Mechanic Simulator VR

as there are several corridors to potentially explore). I never got bored on my first run through and still don’t as I look for all the secrets I can (and some are really well hidden!) and I’m always discovering new little things about the game and the levels I go through. To add on this, the Story of this game is told through the levels, things written on the walls, and the way things function. There are displays, things written by things before you, and just a few other things that keep the mystery of the world going, and it creates an answer in everyone’s head differently, without the game necessarily telling you what’s happening 100%. It’s nice, and it’s good to have levels that aren’t there for flavor text. The journey you go on has a reason and everything that exists within MythOS assembles itself in a story.
