solid economic simulation

So you have a solid economic simulation with very complex processes. You have to buy resources, manage personnel, build production chains, conduct research, research new products and successfully bring them to market. As a very interesting side feature, Good Company offers some challenges on the edge of the campaign’s mission chain. The challenges offer a refreshingly different concept. Some of the small details in the game are finicky, could use a bit of improving, but they are nothing game-breaking. As for gamemodes, you can see that the devs put a lot of work into the campaign mode and a very well done tutorial. Good Company has colorful visuals maintained in a pleasing, cartoon style that evokes associations with productions like Two Point Hospital. Industria

Graphically, Good Company is in the area of functional cuteness. For an early access game, Good Company is much better than some of the release versions of similarly styled games. This game already has a big enough progression system, the graphics are pretty well polished, and the controls are pretty easy to pick up. this is my new favourite. it is extremely satisfying to get your production chaines working. buy stuff, produce stuff, set up logistics and storage, design products, sell stuff, make money, advance and tweak your setups, market analysis, buy buildings, etc. once you get the idea how the basics work more complex systems are introduced in order to automate production lines while you progress in campaign mode. on top of that there are bonus challenge missions.

playing in freeplay mode trying different types of approaches but can never seem to get past the pocket phone or the vacuum products. I always run into the problem of needing to innovate my products which leads to having to hire more workers which leads to expanding to buying other buildings which leads to bankruptcy. There seems to be little to no purpose to upgrading the product with new components other than if you don’t improve them then no one will buy them. Improving the product does not even increase the price of the new product. Which makes the whole process look like busy work for players. These one are not an issue at all but it would be nice to see. 3D modeled components. Impostor Factory

It would be nice to see anything thing other than endless amounts of boxes being moved around. It was in the first trailer and would love to see it again. When workers are on the tables it would add an extra touch when you see the product come together part by part instead just workers flailing there hands around on tables and poof there is a box filled with stuff. Where do the boxes go?? When the workers bring boxes to the table, the items just disappear. Maybe add them to the top of the work area. Freeplay mode should include build your own building mode (even a simple one) or atleast a map with a huge warehouse instead of having little buildings. It would be awesome to specialize a certain building to a certain product.

Good Company Gameplay

The actual gameplay is very deep yet meaningful. It does not seem like you are flooded with an array of unnecessary systems just to pad the game’s complexity. You are given an amazing amount of freedom to micromanage or automate every aspect of production. As is the case with management sims it feels incredibly satisfying to streamline a process to near perfection. However, in the same vein the player seems harshly punished for mistakes. Finding a flaw is like trying to manually debug thousands of lines of code. At least it feels like that sometimes. Overall, however it is fun to play, well made and rewarding. Perhaps with a few more quality of life updates and polish to the tutorial missions it can be something great. The Eternal Cylinder

It is even now definitely worth your time and money. This game is excellent, well thought out, and fun to play. Changing market demand keeps you from falling asleep. Tech tree lets you make decisions that matter. Shop layout lets your skill come into play. These three mechanics, choice, urgency, difficulty, make it fun and addictive. Campaign mode is the best place to start, as its first few levels act like a tutorial. But don’t expect the game to hold your hand every step of the way. Early on, Good Company deliberately lets go of your hand and expects you to figure out some daunting manufacturing dilemmas by yourself. A refreshing approach, in my opinion. Made it feel more like a puzzle game. And you rarely get it right on your first try.
